Riding For Rwanda 2024
September Update - September 9, 2024
A LONG OBEDIENCE IN THE SAME DIRECTION
The numbers are in. We are committed to going the distance – one of us still has a few kms to log (ahem – yes that is me) and we are still accepting donations – received one just last week.
We will wrap up the Riding for Rwanda campaign on the Bike the Night Ride David Lam Park on September 14th. Seems like a sweet way to cross the finish line after a summer of adventure that allowed us to rekindle Ray’s vision to make JOY in fundraising inescapable and allowed us to share the story of two amazing charities that were close to his heart. We never stopped keeping our eye on the prize that took place in 4 countries including our own, US, France and Holland. The campaign gave us the opportunity to engage friends and family along the way.
Everyone was IN to help us.
FULL CIRCLE.
The numbers as of September 9:
Ray 2.0 socks will be worn this fall in 36 households - don’t worry we still have more socks! As a way to honour and remember our founder, Ray Olafsen, we are offering Ray O Socks 2.0 for all donations over $100.
Collectively you have gifted $26,300 to date meaning:
UMOJA Rwanda & Wellspring Foundation for Education will each receive $13,150
Marlene has ridden, walked & spun 1006km
Doris has ridden and skipped 971.6km - so close and not giving up, join me in this final push to the finish line!
We will finish strong – you have been the wind beneath our wings. We will finish what we started. It is what we are called to.
Every little step counts and will make a difference in the lives of so many children and their families in Rwanda.
Thank you for going the distance with us.
PS: check out this little who went with her grandma for a walk one day – a little child shall lead them comes to mind. Thank you for going the distance with us.
PPSS: it’s not too late to get a pair of socks...you can still donate!
